Learning Centers in Elementary Education Research Paper

Learning Centers in Elementary Education - Research Paper representativeMaking my students work independently is a process where I will try to cultivate a culture with the help of the strategies I propose below.Firstly, I will not follow the traditional find outers practice of instinctively helping students most of the time, a habit which will most likely develop a tendency to depend too much on the teacher. Unless I refrain from it on a daily basis, the students will get the pass on that I will interfere whenever there is a problem. For instance, I will give the students academic choice that has been suggested in education research as a way to cultivate motivated learners (Gottfried, 1985). For instance, I will encourage them to find answers to questions that they raise. This will equip the students with tools to solve any difficulty that might arise speckle they are working at the learning centers.Choice, however, has to be balanced with control to some extent (Boud, 1988). Con trol, in my opinion, is not direct but exercised indirectly to hurry independence. To illustrate, reorganising classroom space is one way to reduce dependency on teacher. If students know where to look for supplies, for instance, they will not have to interrupt the teacher. This is a dodge to reduce potential problems that usually make students seek teachers help.Structured learning also helps as it has features of control and choice. I will fall up well-structured learning activities as learning centers tasks and ask them to make choices deep down that framework. I consider such frameworks as providing scope for independent work within boundaries that the need for teachers support becomes least likely. This includes providing all the materials needed on the learning activity and clear rules and expectations of behavior (Reeve & Jang, 2006). One way to teach the behavioral expectations is to do role-plays. I will also check understanding by asking questions to them

Superbad Movie - Essay ExampleClassic Hollywood movies were work of wile that was devoted close to theoretical and critical attention of the movie plot and cinematic text and ideology.Genre compend can be problematical though. What is called compend or criticism is often little more than making note of superficial resemblingities or differences amongst films. This is true across film criticism in general. ferment Altman calls this approach to writing style criticism the semantic approacha focus on the more superficial aspects of films that fit into a given genre. A semantic examination would point out the character types, aesthetics, plot lines, etc., which are common to the films. The inevitable question that must arise from such an assessment is, Why painful sensation? What good does it do to point out that noir films all make extensive use of light and shadow plot development for example, or that Westerns usually peculiarity saloons? In this case genre analysis is no differ ent from a similar analysis of a given individual film. To be valuable, genre analysis must bring deeper issues to the surface. In the context of this deeper, broader method of analysis, I think that genre criticism can be very useful. Qualities or incidences and similarities that seem unnoticeable in individual films can take on more meaning when connected with similar characteristics of other films in the genreif we have shown the existence of the genre itself. So while the semantic approach is necessary, it is a means to an endthe end being the syntactic analysis which can then be taken up, and which can tell us something about the societies in which the films are produced and consumed. Was the suspension of habeas corpus by Jefferson Davis necessary Research Paper

Was the prisonbreak of habeas corpus by Jefferson Davis necessary - Research Paper useIt is thus imperative to begin with a detailed explanation of the meaning and key concepts of habeas corpus. Habeas corpus is a writ founded on the legal doctrine of an accuse persons entitlement to a fair trial. Its essence is that a person deserves to be tried before an open court of law where he spate respond to the charges presented before him as an accused person. It is therefore a court order to show cause as to the purpose and a justification for the condition of the accused person. When presented before a court of law, the state is required to bring forth a prisoner held in custody so that the court can de boundine the lawfulness of the detention.2 It is for this reason that Habeas corpus is considered to be among the cornerstones of American civil liberties and has been used extensively as a powerful safeguard against unlawful arrests. The term habeas corpus originates from the Latin maxim to produce the body of, whereby habeas loosely translates to you have and corpus refers to the body. The writ can be traced as far back as the British occupation of the United States. However, the most accurate detailed explanation of its origin is found in the British Magna Carta. ... The American Constitution allows for the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus in cases of rebellion or the invasion of the public safety.4 Under the American history, the writ has been suspended severally, especially during the American civil war. The first suspension of the writ took place in 1861, where electric chair Abraham Lincoln authorized a suspension of the writ upon the outbreak of riots, threats of succession and resident militia actions.5 Even then, this generated a public outcry in which the Maryland courts challenged the suspension of the writ.6 President Jefferson Davis repeated the same act upon the emergence of the American civil war. However, his suspension of the writ duri ng the fusion period earned him a lot mob criticism. This is because not only did he suspend the writ once, but also sought to seek the telephone extension of the suspension through congress. Unlike in the north where the suspension arose from civil unrest, the suspension of the writ in the south was mainly to spur economic ripening that had been rampaged by the economic crisis of the south. Partly to blame for the extension of the suspension was the reasoning, by Jefferson Davis, that winning the confederacy war and uniting the northern and southern states was his priority. The extension of the warriorlike law was just but the means to win the war over the south and return the south to economic prosperity. This therefore meant that when the attention of the world was upon the Confederacy, President Davis focus was solely upon how to win the war, no matter what it took and any step towards achieving this objective was acceptable. Jefferson Davis and the Confederacy The American civil war emerged as a get by to preserve the union that was the United States of America.

Emulsion Technology - Lab Report ExampleAn photographic emulsion is a setup of two immiscible liquid phases with one of them dispersed throughout the other in form of precise and fine droplets. The phase consisting of tiny droplets is defined as the internal or dispersed phase whereas the suspension phase is classified as the external or continuous phase. Water and crude are the two major constituents of pharmaceutic emulsions. An aqueous continuous phase entrust render the emulsion as fossil oil-in-water (o/w) whereas an oily continuous phase will make a water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion. The stability of an emulsion is dependent on the characteristics of the interfacial film. Addition of an emulsifying agent lowers the interfacial tension and increases the stability of the emulsion. A wide grade of these substances are available e.g. egg yolk, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, 20 etc. In the past emulsions have been used to impart paraffin oil and other oily substances in a more pa latable form (Aulton 1988, p. 93). Nowadays emulsions are very common in foods, cosmetics, personal hygiene and especially pharmaceuticals. Creams, ointments, liniments, pastes, and films are some examples of pharmaceutical emulsions. They are classified according to the oil and water content in each of the preparation and also on their routes of administration (Troy, Remington & Beringer 2006, p. 886-887). To achieve the production of a stabilized emulsion this experimented was conducted in order to formulate a scientific method of emulsion design. MATERIALS & METHOD A condensed film consisting of an oil-soluble component (OSC) and a water-soluble component (WSC) in a ratio of 91 for the required o/w emulsion is needed at the interface between oil and water in order to achieve the best result. Poetry Paper - Essay ExampleIf there was rain, or storm, or hunger, the former(a) day or whitethornbe tomorrow, the bird trudges on, unmindful of the pain and sorrows that could scram weighed people down. So it was with life, Cohen used the birdsong to remind his readers that everyday is an experience, the past is departed and the future is still inconsequential. This very moment is what is important and perhaps this point of view is the authors version of the best way to live a life. With the birds, Cohen also introduced the concept of freedom, which he would further explain in his words about the descend later on. The bird is free from any baggage and so it can proceed on singing regardless of what has transpired before. It is, indeed, a powerful concept to emphasize the simplicity of life if one only takes the right resistant of perspective. This introduction excellently laid the foundation for the more complex themes that would be explored by the author. In reality, for Cohen , the dove is never free. If it is, presently, she will be caught again bought and sold and bought again. Is it then a tragedy? The thought is heart-wrenching especially when one remembers those who have fallen just so the dove can fly. Emotions ran spunky here. The dove is an endearing symbol that evokes almost sense from people to protect it. If one listens more carefully, Cohen seemed to hint another meaning or concept that the dove should represent bondage. It is the doves fate to be chained as much as it represents war itself. Put in another way, wars would not have occurred if there was no dove in the first place. These thoughts would assault your mind as you read the lines about the bird being sold and bought like it was the close to natural thing in the world. It is frustrating that wars will be fought again and again, promising a tiring battle that could break the human spirit. Fortunately, the message is not all about this sad narrative at all. As with the very first passage, this part was used to emphasize a more important message. at one time following this dark passage is a line that talked about the crack. And this was more significant since it paved the way for the main theme of the poem survival, want and persistence of the human spirit. It is interesting that they could all be excellently depicted by the word crack There is a crack in everything Thats how the light gets in. Cohen also managed to infuse religious theme in two lines and they were added as if like an afterthought or a respite after some hard labor Ring the bells that still can ring Forget your perfect oblation Its proximity to the hope and war themes, they also represented a transition towards the lines about the government. The religious theme, however, is stronger. With the two lines, Cohen asked for some form of awareness Which of the bells no longer ring? Which are those that still can? And what is the perfect offering? These questions that the readers would eventual ly ask have some important implications. First, there is something not right with many religions or what they expect from their flock. We want to be saved scarce then Cohen is suggesting that many ways posited by the churches could be flawed and so we must ring those that still can and offer something different, one that though may not be perfect must be suitable. His aptitude to generate characters that goes against the dictate of society such as genus Viola and Maria marks him as genius of the greatest playwrights of his age. However, his facilities as a writer are made known through his ability to twist and prepare denominations and language to his own benefit. As it will be discussed Shake speares intellect is not shown in his ability to create carefully crafted plots and his magnetic writing style but his innovation in creating a world of words and enigmatic characters. Viola maybe considered the main character of the play, her character is sly and cunning. Shakespeares treatment of her is energy short of utter brilliance.Violas ability to adapt to her surroundings and produce sharp comments in little space of time shows her as one of the most clever characters. She comes up with this almost impractical idea to masquerade as man and the fact that she gets the sea captain to agree with it shows her persuasiveness and boldness. non sole(prenominal) that but her plan panned out for a full three months- as stated by Duke Orsino Three months this youth hath tended upon me ( act 5, scene 1)- without no one being none the wiser. In doing so it is revealed just how crafty she is. Her character truly does mirror Shakespeares ingenious mind. Similarly the brazen character of Maria demonstrates Shakespeares aptitude to create clever characters. Like Viola who comes up with an idea for her own benefit although somewhat necessary, Maria concocts this scheme against Malvolio to let him think Olivia confesses her write out for him in the form of a letter. She uses his own ambition against him and makes him out to be a madman that at one point up to now he is tempted to believe, even though he maintains he is quite sane. Even though it was said t o be in jest, some might look upon it as a criminal act as Malvolio was not deserving of this type of treatment. Nevertheless she is a witty character that Shakespeare uses to highlight the brilliance and strong character of women. In extension Shakespeare produces a masterpiece out of his work Twelfth Night through his hilarious playful language. The character that Shakespeare uses most to do this is Feste and Shakespeare does this because the character or reference of Feste allows him to get away comments and retorts that others might not have. An instance of this is his conversation with Olivia wherein he calls her a fool for mourning her brother for seven years and all the more fool for mourning if she believes his soul is in heaven. The more fool, madonna, to mourn for your brothers soul being in heaven. Take away the fool, gentlemen this line not only serves to elapse immense joy and laughter for the audience but highlights the privileges given to an Elizabethan jester for saying such things without recompense. This humorous language is also seen with Festes play with words No such matter, sir. I do live by the church for I do live at my house, and my house doth stand by the church Feste plays with words and relates them with so much zeal that the audience cannot help but be amused. It is also seen with the lines why sir her name is a word, and to dally with that word might make my sister wanton. But indeed, words are very rascals, since bonds disgraced them It is because of this that he calls himself corrupter of words and in this we see the instability of language. It is not only Feste that gets the audience to laugh because of humorous language. Sir Andrew also does this, although his misrepresentation of words is unintentional. His incompetence with language and misuse of words provide comic relief for the audience. What is pourquoi? Do or do not do? I would I had bestowed that time in the tongues that I have in fencing, dancing and bear-baiting O, had I but followed the arts the silliness of it all functions to heighten the dramatic appeal of the play and increase audiences pleasure. The humorous and playful language of the play lets our imagination roam vindicate and that alone shows Shakespeares astounding creativity. In conclusion it can be said that William Shakespeare is truly a mastermind with his wild imagination in creating witty and crafty characters and his ingenious use of language torments the audience with laughter and amusement. Fabians line If this were played upon a stage now, I could condemn it as an improbable fiction shows that Shakespeare is aware of the plays unlikely disparities but nevertheless his skill makes it truly a work of art.WOLMERS HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLSLiteratures in Englishwhole 1Module 1Christina ThompsonL6H1November 19, 2012QuestionShakespeares creative genius is demonstrated by his witty characterization and humorous language Discuss the uttermost to which this is a fair assessment of t he comedy Twelfth Night.REFERENCEShttp//shakespeare.mit.edu/twelfth_night/full.htmlhttp//www.sparknotes.com/shakespeare/twelfthnight/canalysis.html http//www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/a/albert_einstein.html http//www.shakespeare-online.com/plays/characters/violabio.html

Interview With A Leader: Analysis

Interview With A Leader AnalysisIn the counterbalance part of the course work, I make a report about a business psyche who made impact on me. His behavior and aims which he has already achieved made him my idol in my tone. Nothing is perfect this quote is true, the soulfulness I chose does not enjoy English, so I put one across just talked with him in Uzbek, and asked his opinion and ideas about sideline five criteria personality, motivation, leadership, team and group working skills, and decision making.I chose a person who made impact on me because he has very strong mad control on himself, also he is very optimistic he is a business person who manages a credit union in Tashkent. His cognomen is Ilyaos, he was born in Samarkand in a simple family in 1981. In his childhood he wanted to study and work in Tashkent. During these alone time I have learned many practical things from him. As he says I became independent in 1994, and started my own way. So that is why he is so in dependent nowadays. In 1999 he passed entrance exam to the Finance institute in Tashkent, successfully. He had financial difficulties while he studied in institute. Because of that he had to work after the studies. He studied very hard and the result was a graduate ship red diploma of Tashkent financial Institute in 2003. In 2005 he began working as a teacher in Finance Institute in Tashkent. In 2010 he got a PhD degree from Insurance. In addition, nowadays he teaches Insurance subject in the Academy of Bank and Finance and also in one time kit and caboodle as a manager of Credit Union. If we look to the theory to the personality it could be said that personality is the sum of ways in which an individual reacts and interacts with others (Robbins, 2003). In the reference from the Jungs theory that the personality of the individual I chose, can be clarified as an extraverted. Because, he speaks a lot, as we know that extraverted passel first speaks and thinks. And also, according to the Big Five Model, Ilyos aka can be put into the personality group of extroversion, because he tends to be gregarious, assertive, and sociable. In my opinion, difficulties in his student life made him very strong. When we talked, I said that difficulties make person stronger if he does not give up and solves them. Then Ilyos aka said that You will be stronger if you know something to give up and do not be upset. He unendingly says If you are making decisions, ever remember that new things must be to a greater extent useful and beneficial than your older ones. His life experience and skill which he is gaining made impact on me. Because, when we are having discussions he always wins. He reads books both day, watches news and analysis. That is why, he always the first in discussions. Once I wanted to reflect on him, I wanted to be like him in talking and thinking. It was difficult, but one day I won him in discussion and then he said Good job, boy wantMotivation is a passion to wor k for reasons that go beyond money or status (Robbins, 2oo3). As we learned from lectures thither are two types of motivation much(prenominal) as internal and external. For practice session, for the person I chose intrinsic motivation is his own future plans and extrinsically motive is money. Before motivating others, you yourself should be motivated first, for the reason that if, person hesitates, he/she will hesitate others, too Ilyos aka said. As for him, money is the strongest motivator in the world. In addition, in order to be motivated himself, a person should have strong personality, and optimism, said Ilyos aka.According to the Joyce S. Osland, 2001, approximately effective leaders are alike in one crucial way they all have a high degree of what has come to be known as emotional intelligence. It is not that IQ and technical skills irrelevant. And also in this book there was given a research in leadershiphip and management which was done by author and his friends. They h ave found five components of emotional intelligence at work. Self ken is the first component of emotional intelligence which makes sense when one consider that Delphic oracle gave the advice to know you thousands of years ago. Also, self awareness means having a deep understanding of ones emotions, strength, weakness, needs, and drives (Joyce, 2oo1).When I asked him to speak about leaders and leadership skills, he bound leadership skills with motivation, as for him motivation is the most important tactic for leaders and managers, and said that without knowing motivation no one can be can have leadership skills. As I mentioned above he likes to read books about psychology, during the interview he gave example of ideal leader. He said the words of the leader who got one million clam a month, There is nothing bad for employees except the punishment of their manager. As for me the same situation, I always tried to encourage the people with good words. Leaders should know what his emp loyees want, and always should respect others ideas. Ilyos aka said that Your works and results should speak instead of you. For example, when he worked in commercial bank as a manager, he had always a good communication with his colleagues. I think, having good communication is good, however manager should remember that he leads the company. So, my opinion is that managers should be a bit unforgiving with his employees.Team and group working skillsA team is a small number of people, with complementary skills, who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and burn down for which they are mutually accountable. A group is defined as two or more individuals, interacting and interdependent, who come together to achieve particular objectives. Groups can be either formal or informal. (Katzenbach and Smith, 1993)The nature of Teamwork occurs when a group of members work together in ways that utilize their skills well to accomplish a purpose. The person I chose has some lack of team and group working skills because when I observed his speech in some meetings he always tries to be first and talks a lot and loud. According to Arts of Communication by Dale Carnegie there was written about that if a person wants to have more auditory modality and friends that person must learn to listen to them. However, he always tries to be in the center of the attention. Speak a lot, gives interesting facts. As for me, it is cannot be seen as a good skills, he has some minus in team working. For example, he should learn how to listen to the others idea.Decision makingThen he gave an example of buying his flat as a decision for his own purpose. On the other hand, when he chaired the meeting in his credit union almost always decides regarding to the purpose of the organization.
